Käly (2022)
The series explores the beginning of a friendship and the dynamic between two young women, Netta and me. We were brought together by our significant others; two brothers called Veeti and Ville. Käly is Finnish for sister-in-law, and even though Netta and I use the word jokingly, it summarizes our relationship well.
At first it seemed like the only thing we had in common was our boyfriends being brothers. Her dream is to become a doctor, mine is to be able to make photographs for a living. In her freetime she goes to the gym, in mine I bind books. However, as we spent more time together, I started to notice that we get along really well. Even though our interests differ, we share a similar way of thinking and our senses of humor align.
Being tied to the same family has created a sister-like relationship between us, which the series portrays with documentary, family photo type pictures.
